Sandy Noyes photopgrahs 1993 [photographs]

The Sandy Noyes photographs contain images of the former United States Steel Company Duquesne Works after demolition of the site was underway. Noyes was granted access to the Duquesne Works in September of 1993 to conduct a four-day photo shoot. The collection contains 24 matted 4 x 5 photographs and over 50 negatives of the matted prints, as well as of additional images. The black and white photographs show the Duquesne Works cast houses, the ore bridge and wall, stoves which fueled the cast houses, and exterior piping and valves throughout the compound. The prints are identified by a number on the back and corresponding numbers with complete titles are listed in a typed index included within the box. Noyes used Kodak Ektapen sheet film in a 4 x 5 view camera with a Goerz and Schneider lenses.
